Costa Rica Cloud Forest & Arenal Volcano Tour

Day 1:

Welcome at the airport and afternoon tour to San Jose city

Our staff will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in San Jose. Once you get checked in you can enjoy the beautiful hotel or opt to explore San Jose and surrounding area, this is not included in the tour but it is a easy and fun to do on your own.

Day 2:

Transfer to Arenal Volcano National Park with stop at Sarchi

Delicious breakfast. Then we will depart to the north side of Costa Rica, home of Costa Rica's most beautiful volcano, the mighty Arenal Volcano. To get to this natural wonder we will travel to the northern part of the country, and make a brief stop in the famous typical town of Sarchi, known internationally as the birthplace of crafts, due to its creative and hard-working artisans. Then, our trip goes through plantations of various agricultural products, ornamental plants and cattle ranches, to the town of La Fortuna for a typical lunch in a cozy restaurant right in front of the volcano. This location allows you to have the best view of the volcano. Later, you will relax in one of the best hot springs in the area, where you can book a massage or special treatment, we recommend booking it in advance. At the end of day, an excellent dinner will be served, always with the best view of the Arenal Volcano. After dinner, a transfer will get you to your hotel in the area.

Day 3:

Bote Safari at Peñas Blancas river

Early in the morning, after breakfast, prepare to take a Safari boat to Peñas Blancas river. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest and experience inner peace while we paddle by the amazing Peñas Blancas River. You can admire incredible species such as monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles, and tropical birds. Our guides will share with you all their knowledge about the local wildlife. You will truly appreciate the wonders of the Peñas Blancas river and jungle that surrounds it while the river currents slowly float us down the river. This way you can sit back, relax and take in the beauty. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars on this tour!

Day 4:

Arenal & Monteverde Transfer

At 7:45 in the morning just after breakfast, we will transfer to the Arenal Lake where you will embark on a boat that will be going to the other side of the lake where a ground transportation will continue our journey to Monteverde. Crossing by boat this beautiful Lake is an unforgettable experience. The rest of the day, feel free to familiarize yourself with this small town or visit by your own the biological reserve in the area, called Santa Elena Biological Reserve.

Day 5:

Monteverde & San Jose (Visit to Selvatura, the Reserve and Hanging Bridges)

After breakfast, you will depart to the private biological reserve in Selvatura for a suspension bridges experience, which represent a masterpiece of engineering and bridge building, all with maximum safety guidelines. The entire walk consists of 8 bridges of different lengths ranging from 204 to 480 feet. The total length of the route is approximately 1.8 miles. This tour offers the safest way to enjoy the greenery of the cloud forest from a birds eye perspective. You will return to your hotel at noon for a short break, before departing with Interbus shuttle company, at 2:00 PM, directly to San Jose. The arrival time is approximately at 6pm.

Day 6:

Transfer to Juan Santamaria International Airport

After breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight home.
