"My husband and I made a trip from Playa Flamingo into Tamarindo one day on our honeymoon to see the town and take a surf lesson. The shop in Tamarindo had lost our reservation and the town really wasn't that appealing to us once we got there. One of the employees referred us to the RipJack Inn to rent boards and get a lesson. Once we made it to Playa Grande in our jeep, it was so worth it. The pictures dont do it justice. The beach has been kept in its natural state and its not overrun with people. The RipJack Inn is this small quaint building with rooms on the bottom and a husband and wife team running the restaurant above. By far, it was the best food we had in Costa Rica...the BBQ and fish & the servive were perfect and the sunset was spectacular. If you're making a budget trip to Costa Rica, or you just want to see the real Costa Rica in a laid-back, non-touristy non-generic resort setting, this is the place to go. " | |
