"I had previously written a review about how I enjoyed my stay here, however, I was disappointed because I had left my iPod there by mistake and had not been able to get it back. However, through the efforts of Jorge Machado, I was finally able to get my iPod back. Even though it took 2 months, I appreciate the communications and efforts of Jorge in persisting until I finally got my iPod back. Thank you, Jorge."

"We stayed at Casa Conde for 2 nights. We had stayed at various places all over Costa Rica. We thoroughly enjoyed having a relaxing ending to our trip to Costa Rica. The place was beautiful and the amenities were fantastic. We loved the pool bar!
The only problem was that there were no restaurants close by or other places to visit close by you would have to take transportation to go to any type of shopping. The food at the restaurant was very good, but that was our only option, basically.
I was also disappointed because I had accidentally left my iPod at the resort. I called the next day while we were in San Jose and I was assured that they had it. They said they could not get it to me in San Jose due to it being a weekend, but that they would mail it to me once we got back to the United States. It has been over a month, and I have yet to receive the iPod. I have emailed them several times, and I was assured they had my address, but no one seems to be able to tell me what happened to the iPod. I am very disappointed!!"

"My husband and I spent two nights at Casa Conde del Mar. It was the end of our Costa Rican vacation. We had stayed in two other places which were very nice but this was our favorite of the three. The grounds are lovely, the pool is large and very interesting, and the beach has a beautiful view, a sandy floor, and gentle waves. There is a gatekeeper for security. I saw parakeets in the trees along the beach. This is a great place to bring children of all ages. The rooms were modestly appointed but clean and had easy access to the pool."

"My husband & I just got back from Costa Rica, where we spent 6 nights at Casa Conde del Mar. Let me preface this by saying that I have never written a hotel review, & we travel a lot, but this place was so wonderful that I felt obligated to do so when I came home. Also there aren't many reviews online of the hotel so I thought I'd share.
First of all, the grounds are immaculate. The resort is very lush and the upkeep here is incredible. The pictures online really don't do this place justice. We checked out a couple of other resorts during our stay (Fiesta Premier & Grand Papagayo) & my husband & I both felt that Casa Conde was in the best shape. Also there aren't hills at this resort, so you can see the gulf from your room & you avoid all of the climbing. Also the pool was very large considering this place only has 20-something rooms.
The restaurant was wonderful. We ate almost all of our meals here. We're from New Orleans so we don't have high expectations going elsewhere for food, & we were really blown away by the quality of the food & service here. It was fine dining 3 meals a day. The wait staff is wonderful. The prices are even better- we would have 3 course meals for like $40, beers are something like $1.50! It was almost absurd. To be honest, I liked the food at the hotel even more than the place at Coco Beach everyone tells you you have to go to (Papagayo something?).
Our room was larger than expected, and was very clean. The bathroom wasn't anything spectacular (no jacuzzi tub) but I think they do have rooms with that if you prefer. The bed was very comfortable as well.
The nicest thing for us was how quiet this resort was. We felt as if we'd rented a villa all to ourselves for the week. If we weren't the only people at the restaurant, there were maybe one or two other occupied tables. We had the pool all to ourselves half the time. You get so much more than what you pay for here.
Also, the have an excursion guy at the front desk so we just planned ours when we got there. They also have a great massage service.
So in conclusion, we will definitely be going back to Casa Conde del Mar. If you want a quiet, relaxing trip to Costa Rica this is the way to do it. If you are going to party & meet other people, this probably isn't the place for you. We were absolutely blown away with this place."

"We felt like we were on our own private resort. If I could give it 10 stars I would. The staff were amazing, warm, and inviting. Beautiful hotel and excellent food. If anyone has a problem with the hotel, they should look within themselves. This place is a paradise."

"I spent a beautiful vacation in Costa Rica in January 2007. On my long holiday I had only one bad, very unpleasant experience: at Casa Conde Del Mar Hotel. My tour agency chose this hotel for me, because I requested especially to book a quiet, peaceful place. The booking was confirmed and the room was prepaid. But when I arrived they said at the reception that there isn’t a room for me, as the hotel is overbooked and they transfer me immediately to another hotel. Without any question about my opinion and without to inform the travel company! After a long phone consultation with their booking center and the travel company they could give me a room… I was happy, enjoyed myself in this really very nice, elegant hotel, in spacious, comfortable room. For a half an hour! After the lunch, during the siesta, when a lot of hotel guest slept, they started to play terrible loud disco music at the pool bar. It was so hard that in my room the windows quaked and it was impossible to escape because the whole garden became very-very loud. I complained about it at the reception, but they said that this music is a new service and it lasts almost all day. But I didn’t want to spend my holiday in a loud disco! And there was an opportunity to escape from Casa Conde Del Mar Hotel: They took me to the brand new Monarch Resort and I spend there a fantastic week! "

"My husband and I were in Costa Rica for our honeymoon. After spending the first week in the Manuel Antonio area, we were looking forward to relaxing on the beach for the second week. We originally were at a neighboring all-inclusive resort but were very disappointed in the accommodations. After taking a long stroll on the beach the following morning, we came upon your beautiful resort. The staff was so friendly in welcoming us and taking the time to show us the resort that we were sold immediately. They accommodated us and we promptly came to stay the rest of the week for our honeymoon. It turned out to be the best week that we had ever had with such a delightful staff that was always kind and anxious to help us whenever needed. I would love to return someday and will highly recommend your resort to anyone wishing to stay in the area. Thanks again for making us feel so welcome and special. You have given us wonderful memories!"

"We love the climate in Costa Rica during out winter months. It is always sunny and hot! This is a wonderful hotel. Pristine, clean and not crowded. We originally went to an all-inclusive (Grand Papagayo):( and were very disappointed because of overbooking and crowded conditions there. While on a jog, we found Costa Conde del Mar. It was a paradise! It is located right on the beach. It's not a feeding frenzy like the all inclusive places, but breakfast is included and the restaraunt prices are reasonable. The campground down the road also had a bar & restaraunt that was vey adequate. If you want lots of people and crowds, don't come here. If you enjoy attention to detail, this is the place to be. It is across the bay from Four Seasons."
