Daily tours go to various places near the hotel, including an underground cave system, sunset / sailing cruises and tours specifically to see turtle nesting grounds. For adventure seekers, there are zip line tours and an adventure combo tour that includes horseback riding and a trek through the rainforest on a hanging bridge. Experience more adrenaline-fueled tours with the boat safari or river rapids tour. More sedate tours include the daily sunset cruise and a trip to some nearby waterfalls.
At the end of the day, you'll return to your room, suite or villa. Whichever you've chosen, there is free wireless internet and cable TV for you to sit back and enjoy. Choosing a deluxe room means you'll have an outdoor seating area to listen to the sounds of the jungle and watch the waves roll by. Villas are situated between the hotel and the beach, putting you even closer to the beautiful sandy shores of Grande Beach.
Another thing to do at the hotel is enjoy the Playa Grande Park Restaurant and Bar. National and international liqueurs are available to pair with BBQ and fusion cuisine. Vegetarian options are available upon request.
Multiple special occasion packages are available at Playa Grande. For a destination wedding, you can book the entire hotel plus the villas to house family and friends as they come celebrate this special day. A small wedding of 28 guests can easily stay at the hotel, or add 17 more guests by reserving the villas. For something more private, consider just spending your honeymoon at Playa Grande by booking the honeymoon suite. You and your spouse can enjoy chocolates and champagne upon arrival.

Suite Living Room at Playa Grande Park Hotel and Villas
Four different room packages give you the flexibility to customize your stay. Whether you want a standard or deluxe room, a suite or your own villa, the facilities at Playa Grande Park Hotel and Villas can find something to suit your needs. Each reservation has access to a complementary hot breakfast and relaxing pool. Here is a look at the four lodging options at Park Hotel.
Standard - This is the most affordable room and is on the ground floor for convenient trips to the pool. Three can sleep in the queen and individual beds in this room, and it also comes with wireless internet, cable TV, private bathroom and mini-fridge.
Deluxe - In addition to the amenities found in the standard reservation, the deluxe rooms are on the second floor with outdoor seating areas so you can enjoy the jungle and ocean views. All of that for a modest price increase.
Suite - Fit four people comfortably with this two-bedroom suite with individual queen beds, starting at $150. All the extras you'd expect in a standard or deluxe room are available in a suite, plus a kitchen with a stove, fridge, microwave and toaster oven.
Villas - While the main hotel is 200 meters from the beach, these private villas are much closer, there are only 50 meters between you and the crashing surf. Bed accommodations include one king and one queen, but additional beds are available on request.
Barra Honda National Park - This local cave system has regular tours going deep into the water-carved depths. Much of the space is carved by over 70 million years of filtered rain water.
Catamaran Sunset Cruise - Ocean life commonly seen during this tour include dolphins, sea turtles, flying fish and whales. You can watch the sun go down over the beautiful bays of Costa Rica while enjoying a freshly prepared feast and a cold drink.
Turtle Tour - The nearby Marino Baulas National Park dedicates its time and resources to protecting the habitat of local leatherbacks. This night tour is the only way to see these creatures during their nesting season as the beach is closed to anyone without a guide.
Local Volcanoes - Spend the day enjoying waterfalls and the sight of an active volcano. The Arenal Volcano may be considered young by geological standards, but it's still nearly 7,500 years old and quite the sight to see.

"Wonderful gem! This is an upscale laid-back chill hotel at a great price.
Super comfortable queen sized beds, flat screen TV's, air conditioned spacious rooms with clean & modern bathrooms... Perfect!
Best Sushi restaurant with pool-side tables and candle light dinners after a day surfing and playing... Oh yeah, yummy frozen drinks too :)

"Too bad we could only stay for 2 nights. Very nice hotel great athmosphere and architecture and very friendly staff that treat you like family. They even gave me the entrance key so I could do my jogging very early in the morning. Very tasty breakfast, that was included in the price. Hope to visit again next year. "

"What a place, I had the best time at Playa Grand Surf Hotel, the hospitality was unreal. The rates compared to other hotels in the area are unmatchable, they only have 8 rooms so make sure you make an advanced reservation.
Brand new facility, we stayed in other hotels and this was the best for a lot less money, it is close to everywhere. I highly recomend this hotel."
