Sansa Airlines flies out of Juan Santamaria the main International Airport in San Jose. The domestic airport is walking distance from the International Terminal. Just walk to the main street turn left then make a quick left back to the domestic terminal. The airport is only 25 minutes from Downtown San Jose and a couple of minutes from Alajuela.
If you choose to check sports equipment as part of your regular baggage allowance and check another piece as excess baggage, the sports equipment will be subject to overweight/oversized baggage charges.
