Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is a home away from home. This environmentally friendly lodge offers plenty to do for kids and adults alike and will have you wondering if you ever want to leave the beautiful parks, forest and mountains of the region.
Overview
Amazing view from Dantica Lodge
Situated in picturesque San Gerado de Dota, Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is the brainchild of Maria Luisa Castro Fernández, a Colombian textile designer, and Joost Wilms, a Dutch tropical ecologist. Together they created a sustainable eco lodge that provides adventure for guests while respecting the surrounding nature.
The lodge offers several unique experienced, including a beautiful art gallery for guests to browse seven days a week. Three rooms are filled to the brim with breathtaking indigenous art and handicrafts from Costa Rica, Argentina, Guatemala and several other Latin-American countries. The gallery displays everything from jewelry to furniture and is as educational as it is beautiful.
If you are traveling with children, you can't miss a visit to the lodge's playground. Kids love visiting the open-air play space, complete with swings, monkey bars, a large trampoline and climbing tires. Reception also keeps a collection of indoor toys for guests to use during their stay.
When you're ready to grab a bite to eat, do it at Le Tapir, the resort's on-site restaurant. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Le Tapir features homemade pasta adorned with fresh organic herbs grown on-site. Other options include pancakes, oatmeal, and other traditional foods with a Costa Rican twist. Breakfast is included with your stay, and the restaurant's glass architecture provides the perfect spot to search for hummingbirds as you eat.
Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge offers a variety of other services for its guests. Wireless internet is available in each bungalow or at the front desk, and if you are staying in a bungalow deeper into the forest, staff members will carry your luggage for you. Other services include lunch packages, laundry service and transportation to and from local attractions.
The Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge is situated high in the mountains of the Talamanca mountain range, at an altitude of 2. 600 meters above sea level, in the middle of the Upper Montane Cloud Forest.
