Accessible only by 4x4, horseback or raft, the property is home to a friendly staff and knowledgeable tour guides. Tour guides are highly trained in safety and always do their best to ensure visitors are satisfied with their experienced and their stay at the lodge.
Guests who stay at the lodge can enjoy some of the best whitewater rafting in the country on the 26-mile river that features Class II, III and IV rapids. Rafting tours can last a few hours or a few days, and lessons are available for those who are just starting out. Kayaking is another popular way to enjoy the Pacuare River and the surrounding scenery. The staff at Pacuare River Lodge can also help guests create their own customized vacation package that includes trips to other gorgeous parts of Costa Rica, including the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean.
Accommodations at Pacuare River Lodge include all meals during each guest's stay. On the first and last days, two meals are provided, and all three meals are provided for the length of the visit. The property’s rafting and tour partners bring the meals in via rafts, and each one is locally sourced and prepared with healthy and nutritious ingredients. Breakfast is served buffet-style each morning, and barbecue grills are available on the property for those who wish to use them.
At the end of a long day of kayaking and exploring, many guests like to enjoy the lodge's spacious and beautiful terrace. Comfortable lounge chairs provide the perfect place to relax with a good book, reminisce with other guests about the events of the day, or simply take a nap while listening to the sounds of the Costa Rican rainforest. Visitors can also end their days by walking the gorgeous gardens on the property, exploring flora, fauna and wildlife while doing so.

Pacuare River Lodge features 14 bungalows overlooking the scenic Pacuare River. Because the lodge focuses on eco-friendliness, there is no air conditioning, but Costa Rica's temperatures and the open-air concept allows for plenty of ventilation while sleeping. Cabins are enclosed with screens to prevent insects or other wildlife from disturbing sleeping space.
These rooms include two full-sized beds or two twin beds, although couples often push together the twin beds to create one queen bed. Each sleeping space is outfitted with comfortable cotton sheets and pillows to ensure comfort. Small groups can rent extra rollaway beds to ensure plenty of sleeping space.
Cabins are spaced throughout the property to so that all guests have plenty of privacy while in their own space. A shared bathroom provides showers for guests to freshen up before or after their adventures, and daily housekeeping is available. Luggage storage is available for those who require a little extra space.
