For a true getaway from everyday life, visitors to Costa Rica should stay at the Trogón Lodge. This is a true rustic experience with a touch of modern life. With rooms located along the forest, it allows guests to really rest and relax.
Overview
Beautiful Trogón Lodge
Located in San Gerardo de Dota, Trogón Lodge offers area visitors a comfortable retreat. This hotel is family owned and aims to offer guests an authentic Costa Rican experience with every stay. The focus is on providing excellent service and going above and beyond to ensure guests are comfortable and happy with their experience.
Staying at Trogón Lodge means guests get high quality service that will make them feel relaxed while also welcoming them to Costa Rica. Proud of their heritage, staff provide guests with a look at the culture and traditions of this area. The hotel works to preserve the natural beauty of its surroundings so guests can truly appreciate how beautiful this area of the world really is. With tropical jungles, sandy beaches and clear waters, Costa Rica is a paradise.
Often described as a hideaway, Trogón Lodge is built for those who love nature and want to relax within its folds in a peaceful locale. It is located near the Savegre River and is far enough away from the city that it is peaceful and private. It serves as a great retreat for anyone who wants to just unwind and relax.
Despite the laid back style of this hotel, it still is packed with amenities. The El Quetzal Restaurant has a farm to table concept, which means fresh and delicious foods. Dietary restrictions are not a problem for the chefs who can create masterpieces for any diet. Meals are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. The bar provides guests with a chance to kick back and enjoy the company of others. It plays a steady stream of music from the jukebox and drinks of any kind are served up icy cold or in the case of tea, piping warm. There is also a lounge area for resting and relaxing. It features a reading area with library and also has a television with a selection of dvds. There is also a gift shop on site selling many souvenirs and other trinkets to help guests secure a memory of their time here. Also, guests are welcome to explore the trails close to the lodge and the trout ponds nearby for fishing.
Mystical, unspoiled, surrounded by a collage of green and blue mountains, multicolored flowers, the crystal clear waters of the Savegre River and the sound of Resplendent Quetzal on its magical flight is what you will find at TROGON LODGE.

The Trogón Lodge is set up in groups of two rooms each in buildings. Standard Double Room: Has one queen size and one twin bed or two queen size beds.

"This lodge has a gorgeous setting in the mountains with its own river and pond. Hiking through the surrounding forest is wonderful, and if you're a birdwatcher, there are trogons nearby that are not difficult to see. The food was quite good -- they served trout right out of their own pond. Very peaceful and relaxing. I dream about returning there someday!"
