Hot Springs at Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa
Situated on more than 900 acres of lush, beautiful land, Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa is located at the base of Arenal Volcano and near La Fortuna It is part of Costa Rica's largest network of natural hot springs. The resort offers 103 guest rooms, two restaurants, four bars and an unparalleled spa.
Guests receive free, unlimited access to the thermal river and pools during their stay at the resort. Those over 18 years old also have access to the Shangri-La Gardens. Spend an afternoon lazing about in the five springs heated by the magma of Arenal Volcano. Gorgeous waterfalls dot the area to create a more serene environment. The thermal pools provide a range of temperatures, water flows and degrees of privacy so that you can find something no matter what you are in the mood for.
Do you prefer a more traditional pampering session? visit The Spa at Tabacón. Outdoor bungalows among the trees create the backdrop for your spa treatments. Sessions range from about an hour to all day and are available for individuals or couples. Body treatments, such as the chocolate treatment or pineapple and mango treatment, make way for hydrating or purifying facials. In addition to traditional Swedish and deep tissue massages, the resort's professionals offer hot stone therapy, Thai massage and much more. Other treatments include manicures, pedicures and waxing.
Whether you spend the day adventuring or relaxing, you'll be hungry eventually. Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa is home to two open-air restaurants and several bars. Ave del Paraíso is located in the hot springs area and serves lunches and dinners of traditional Costa Rican cuisine. You'll find Los Tucanes, which specializes in a la carte options, on the hotel grounds. Los Tucanes serves breakfast and dinner. When you're in the mood for a cocktail, you can swim right up to them at the Arenal Pool Bar or at Caña Brava Bar in the hotel lobby. The adults-only Shangri-La Gardens also provides a bar. If you want to do something truly special, ask about private dining. The gala dinner includes an open-air bungalow occupied only by you, your dinner guests and your private chef, who prepares gourmet cuisine on-site.

Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa offers a variety of accommodations to suit even the most discerning traveler.
Senator Suites - The resort's Senator Suites are spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Perfect for families or small groups of travelers, they include a living area and dining room to provide a home away from home. The master bedroom offers a king bed and a terrace with a rainforest view. It has its own master bathroom with an in-room Jacuzzi and separate shower. The second bedroom offers two full beds, a second bathroom and a large walk-in closet. Other amenities include a smart TV in the living room with additional televisions in the second bedroom and the bathroom.
Tabacón Suite - The Tabacón Suite features two bedrooms. The master bedroom includes a sitting area, a dining area and a king bed. A second bedroom offers two full beds. The shared bathroom offers a double hot tub and glass-enclosed shower. A smart TV is available in the master bedroom. The second bedroom and bathroom have television as well. A smaller version of the Tabacón Suite includes a single room with one king or two full beds and a pullout sofa.
Honeymoon Suite - Newlyweds love the Honeymoon Suite. The rainforest and Arenal Volcano act as a backdrop for this spacious suite, which includes a king canopy bed and in-room tub. A smart TV provides entertainment as you relax and soak.
Rainforest Room - The resort also provides two traditional rooms. The Rainforest Room features a king bed and pullout sofa. The bathroom is equipped with a glass-enclosed shower and a two-person hot tub, and guests will love their terrace or balcony, which overlooks the rainforest. A 42-inch flat screen TV is included.
Orchid Room - The most affordable room is the Orchid Room. The open space features unobstructed views of the beauty outside and the rainforest shower with natural skylight will make you feel like you're a part of the forest itself. A sitting area makes the perfect place for watching the flat screen TV. These rooms offer one king or two queen beds as well as a sofa bed. Connecting rooms are available.
Tabacón Hot Springs - Thermal Spring Complex is a distinctive complex is developed around the Thermal Springs of the Tabacon river, at a therapeutic temperature of 39°C (102°F). The river flows through the properties’ tropical gardens forming natural pools and waterfalls. Dressing rooms, lockers and towels are available for their guests and visitors.
The Spa at Tabacón - The Spa at Tabacón is located in the heart of the Thermal Spring Complex, the Spa is an obligatory stop for our guests and visitors. Among our famous treatments you’ll find the volcanic stone massage, Swedish massage, shiatsu, reflexology, mud wraps, hydrotherapy and facials.
Go Adventure Park - Just a three-minute walk from the resort, Go Adventure Park offers everything you can imagine. Zip across the skies, tube down the river or even just ride a friendly horse through the gorgeous scenery.
Ecoglide Arenal Park - Featuring 13 cables and 15 platforms, this trip allows you to zip through the treetops to get an up-close look at Costa Rican wildlife. Walking tours are also available for bird watching.
Cerro Chatto Lake - Providing a gorgeous green lagoon and a challenging hike, adventurists and those who simply want to take in nature will both love this activity. An observatory lodge provides plenty of chances to view local wildlife.
