Popular Beer
There are numerous bars in Guanacaste located up and down the coast, especially along the Nicoya Peninsula. Beer is very popular out here, with several local brands available at most bars and sodas for under US$ 5. Imperial is one of the most well-known brands in the country and every bar will have it. For a more unique beer try out Bavaria Negro, which is a dark beer, however, it is not as easily available. Rum and coke or cuba libre is another common drink as is the Guaro Sour.
Where to Go
Along the Guanacaste Coast, some of the best bars can be found in Tamarindo, which acts a hub for the region. A busy energetic town with plenty of tourist, accommodations, tour operators and restaurants can all be found here as well. Yucca in the Pasatiempo Hotel is a popular bar as is Hotel Kalifornia. For a more wild time head to Mambobar, while for a mellow night out, the Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas is a good choice. Playa del Coco, Playa Negra, Playa Grande, Playa Avellana, Playa Carrillo, Playa Conchal, Playa Flamingo, Playa Nosara, Playa San Miguel and Playa Samara all have some great bars along the beach, where you can drink all you like.
